Ed is based in Bangkok and provides government relations and public affairs services to GTH-GA’s clients in Thailand.
A veteran in international law enforcement & diplomacy, he is a retired US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent with 22 years of experience in national security, international criminal investigations, and crisis management.
After serving as FBI Supervisory Special Agent in San Francisco and Washington DC for 10 years, he spent 3 years as the FBI Assistant Legal Attaché & Acting Legal Attaché at the US Embassy in Thailand.
As one of the leading FBI officers in the region, he managed and directed the agency’s criminal, cyber, counterterrorism, and counterintelligence investigations in Thailand, Myanmar, & Laos. He was also responsible for capacity building and training with law enforcement and justice liaison partners in these countries.
After retiring from FBI, Ed worked in the non-profit sector as Project Manager with Immigration & Border Management Unit of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bangkok. There he was responsible for funding and execution of donor project activities with Thai governmental counterparts, including Royal Thai Police agencies to strengthen migration and border management systems, processes, policies, and capacities.
Presently, as part of GTH-GA’s International Public Affairs team specializing in forensic DNA, he has been actively engaging multiple stakeholder groups across Thailand on policies and regulation to establish and expand the use of DNA technologies.
A firm understanding of the political and cultural landscape of the region; strong networks in international law enforcement and diplomatic communities; and policy exposure to sectors like biotechnology, cybersecurity, defense, & infrastructure make Ed a strong asset to our clients.
